Clear combustibles around the house
Move leaves, firewood, doormats, cardboard, and other flammable items away from the home.

Bring trash cans & outdoor furniture inside
Patio cushions, lightweight furniture, umbrellas, and trash cans go in the garage or indoors.

Close all windows & doors
Help keep embers and smoke from entering your home. Close garage doors and pet doors too.

Review your evacuation plan
Know your routes, parking locations, and family communication plan in advance.

Monitor local alerts and weather forecasts. Sign up for emergency notifications.
Red Flag Warnings are issued when warm temperatures, very low humidity, and stronger winds combine to produce increased risk of fire starts and rapid fire spread. Use these hours to finish your preparations and stay alert.
